7th Graders Construct Medieval Castles

Article by Sierra Corriveau, Photos by Dave Thompson

After studying the different parts of a castle and its various functions, the seventh graders built castles of their own.  They were allowed to use any materials as long as they were transportable and could fit through a door.  The students chose materials that ranged from tin to marshmallows.  Each castle had a unique style while illustrating the major parts of any medieval castle.  These include the moat, drawbridge, portcullis, bailey, keep and barbicans.  Their creativity is amazing!!!!!!
