Holy Thursday Celebrated at St. Pius |

| Article and photos
by Dave Thompson On Holy Thursday all students and teachers of St. Pius gathered in the church to celebrate the Washing of the Feet. The primary grades first presented a short play on The Tale of Three Trees, by Angela Elwell Hunt. This is the story of three trees that dreamed of becoming a chest that holds fine jewels, a strong ship, and a stately tree that people would look up to and think of God. They were all chopped down and were helpful in fulfilling the life of Jesus. The teachers then assembled at the front of the church to wash the hands of all the students. Natalie Thompson sang “So You Must Do,” by Marty Hogan while everyone, even adults visiting the church, went forward to have his or her hands washed. It was a very moving experience. A special thanks goes out to Mrs. Barnes and her very talented crew of students who put on a beautiful experience as we begin The Easter Triduum. |
